Postal database gets updated monthly, usually at the end of each month. The Database server and Terminal server are routinely updated with the necessary software. You can verify that this is working as follows:
Start Raisers Edge
Click the records option and find a constituent
Click the MAIL icon in the toolbar and you should see a popup screen showing coponents of the address found in the previous step.
If the software had not been installed, you would have been advised and instructed to restart Raisers Edge after the update finishes.
If you see an error message indicating that the serial number for Postal Saver is either out of date or corrupt, you must do the following:
Go to the "Tools" drop-down menu and select "user options."
Click on the "file Locations" tab and specify the AddressAccelerator Data Files location. if the location field is blank, insert the following: \\3ofc008\postalfiles
Next, click "Apply."
The AddressAccelerator function should now work normally.
