0200 .NET Frameworks required for CLMS2PC

Daniel Ziko -

.NET 3.5 is required for CLMS2PC on Windows XP and Vista. Primarily because it is required for the SQL Sever 2008 database that is used.

Net 3.5 will install .Net 2.0 and .Net 3.0, as 3.0 and 3.5 are built as extensions to the 2.0 framework. Note that .Net 3.5 is also a prerequisite for Sql Server 2008:

FOR Windows 7 ONLY .NET 4.0 since .NET 3.5 is incorporated in the Windows 7 operating system. Why doesn't CLMS2PC just use .NET Framework 4.0 instead of 3.5? Net 4.0 removes and reorganizes some of the libraries in the framework, and thus is not backwards compatible. Also, targeting a specific version of the framework helps to avoid “DLL Hell”
